Design Philosophy

Tom Stringer Inc. is a multi-disciplinary design firm based in Chicago. Our work includes residential, commercial and hospitality projects across the country. Through careful listening, real respect for the needs of our clients, and close attention to detail, we strive to create living environments that reflect and honor the unique sensibility of each client. While a team of talented designers collaborate in all of our work, Tom stringer takes the lead role and is the primary client liaison for every project we undertake. Tom Immerses himself in all aspects of our projects, from supervising contractors and consultants to personally selecting the antiques, furniture, fabrics and accessories presented to clients. Tom’s unique and friendly working style, keen eye and thoughtfulness have led to long lasting associations with clients from coast to coast, many of whom return to complete multiple projects.

About The Designer

Tom Stringer is a graduate of Arizona State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Work includes historical estates, yachts, family houses, lakefront cottages, ranches, offices, and island retreats as well as Chef Grant Achatz’s Alinea restaurant rated # 1 in Gourmet Magazine. He also introduced a classically inspired line of upholstered furniture through TexStyle. Mr. Stringer continues to be recognized by House Beautiful as one of its top 125 designers.
